Sony's Senior PR Manager Patrick Seybold has responded to comments on the official Playstation blog and states that a new PS3 firmware update is due to hit next week. It is rumored that more specifically the new firmware will be released on July 24th. While nobody knows for sure what new features the update will bring gamers-creed.com speculates a large amount including "XMB is now accessible during gameplay."
