A gaming website is claiming that now is a good time to buy the PS3, following the rough ride it had during its early launch phase. Improved DVD playback, streaming media, total backwards compatibility, price cuts, the success of Blu-ray and a number of promising exclusive titles support this view.

So in a nutshell, things are looking up for Sony. As an early adopter of all three next-gen consoles, I must admit I have been extremely critical of the PS3 in the past: When I purchased a PS3 many months ago it was missing many of the features I enjoyed using on my cheaper Xbox 360, and it lacked a compelling roster of games. Well, Sony promised they would address these issues, and so far they seem to have kept their word. In addition to the improvements listed above, Sony has even more in store for the PS3 down the road: Home (Sony’s answer to Xbox Live,) Downloadable HD movies, and TiVo like features are all said to be in the works and should continue to add value to a console that continues to evolve over time. Who knows… maybe we’ll get a firmware update enabling 4-Dimensional graphics play one of these days.
