Why is the PS3 so far behind the competition?

A blog called 'MicroTechXP' is asking Why the PS3 is 'so far' behind the competition? Their argument as to why the PS3 isn't being an immediate success is that there are pricing issues, a lack of games and the new and media being against it from the start. Although, they forget to mention that a big reason that it is 'so far' behind the Xbox 360 is because it was released MUCH later.

Quote:
The Games. The games that are released from 3rd party companies for the Playstation 3 are almost almost ALL ports from the XBOX 360. The ports are all crap also, almost all of them don’t live up to their XBOX 360 counterpart’s. Lets take Madden NFL ‘08 for an example. If you have seen it you can see that it lags behind the XBOX 360’s version of Madden ‘08. In an article from Maxconsole, EA has said that their developers have had 3.5 years of development time with the XBOX 360 and only 1 year with the Playstation 3. Now we all know this is bull****, as Namco released Ridge Racer 7 for the PS3 at its launch and it ran at 60 frames per second with 1080p! Now how is it that Madden NFL ‘08 is almost released one year after RR7 and the X360’s version runs 60 frames per second and the PS3’s version runs at 30 frames per second? Why? Well EA and all the other game companies just port their games without actually working on it and making it better for the PS3. If it was better or even the same they might actually buy their product for the PS3 instead of going to the XBOX 360 and buying the same thing, but better. Now 1st party games are amazing as they actually show off the console, but there are too little of those right now. Sony needs to push themselves to make their games better and more visually better. They also need to help 3rd and 2nd party game developers to make their games look better on the PS3 and have better controls. With this they might be able to get more exclusives and better games as they will show off what their system can do.
