A good number of angered Wii owners have been posting at internet forums claiming that their systems have been broken following being left on standby via WiiConnect24 for long periods of times. Despite Nintendo conceeding that only a very small amount of power us utilized by the mode, the console does get very hot when the feature is utilized and far hotter than when being played because the internal fans are DEACTIVATED. Owners are suggesting that the heat is causing the CPU to over-heat which in turn breaks the Wii.
